Sofia - Kalofer - Sofia

4 days / 3 nights

Depart date:
Price 258 €

4 DAYS/ 3 NIGHTS

Day 1: Arrival in Sofia. Accommodation in a 4**** hotel. Leisure time. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 2: Breakfast. Departure for the town of Kalofer, situated in the foot of the Central Balkan. On the way visiting Koprivshtitsa - One of the most charming small Bulgarian towns, still preserving the atmosphere of the National Revival period, and Karlovo - another remarcable town, where the landmarks are mostly connected with the life of Vassil Levski - the greatest Bulgarian patriot of all times. In the town, one can visit the Town Museum of History, the Vassil Levski house-museum, the monument dedicated to Vassil Levski, the Vassil Levski Chitalishte (Comunity Centre and Library) with a permanent art exhibition, or one of the many renovated houses in old style. Arrival in Kalofer. Accommodation in a 3*** hotel. Leisure time. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 3: Breakfast. Beginning of the Eco tour. From Kalofer town the trail heads to the resort site of Panitsite. After the store there the river is crossed on a bridge and the dust road is taken. After the last buildings the trail turns to the left and to the West, climbing a steep heavily eroded slope, through a broad-leaf forest by the Studeno Kladentche fountain, to the flat crest of the ridge of Strajata, to the North of the Vrashnika hill. To the North along the ridge leads a dust road which is followed for some 300 and the wide marked trail takes to the right. It climbs through a broad-leaf forest, as to the Northwest it continues along the grass narrow water divide between Byala River and Tundzha River. Again on a dust road a small concrete store in the site of Slivkata is reached. From here the trail follows the winter pillar marking to the peak of Botev along the ridge of Paradjika, descending from the very peak of Paradjika. The trail follows closely the crest of the ridge, gets out of the forest and continues through high-mountain pastures to the East of the valley of Malka Bazovitsa River. The trail gets away from the ridge upon crossing the springs of Malka Bazovitsa River, and further on turns to the West. The steep stony slopes are followed – the Eastern segment of the Botev Peak granite intrusion. In the direction North-northwest the trail steeply climbs to Marinka shelter, where it turns to the West, shortcuts Malkya Yumruk peak from the left and with a slight inclination climbs to the peak of Botev. Hiking this trail you can enjoy Dzhendema Reserve. It is not only the largest reserve in Stara Plaina, but also one of the largest in Bulgaria. The deep and narrow canyons, the stunning abysses, the spurs and the white-water cataracts inspire respect for Nature, hiding here examples of its splendor. The real treasures here are the forests – almost untouched by human hand and the huge pastures, conquered by massive limestone rocks. Here you can admire the highest Bulgarian waterfall – the Divine Chute, falling from the Botev Peak. Thanks to its specific geological character, the reserve is in the heart of a contemporary centre for the formation of new plants. Impressed by the terrifying splendor of nature, the humans named this place Djendema - the Inferno, but that is the Heaven for the large carnivores, the chamois and the birds of prey. Leisure time. Departure for Sofia in the late afternoon. Accommodation in a 4**** hotel. Dinner. Option - visit of a typical Bulgarian restaurant. Overnight.
Day 4: Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.
